1920 – 2016
AUBURN — John Baptiste Boucher, 95, passed away at Bolster Heights Residential Care in Auburn on Thursday, Feb. 18.
He was born in Auburn on July 4, 1920.
John always resided in Auburn, having lived on Dunn Street for 30 years, then moved to housing at Great Falls Plaza for a few years, afterward to Bates Street in Auburn for five years and finally to Bolster Heights Residential Care for the remainder of his life. Being involved in the community, John was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in the Lewiston-Auburn area. One of his fondest memories was playing in the St. Cecilia Band, where he played the trumpet, piano and organ. He was a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II serving in active duty. He was stationed in Washington, D.C., as a bugler at Arlington National Cemetery. John always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his three sons, John P. and his wife, Judith, of Naples, Fla., Roger and his wife, Barbara, of Ashland, Ore., and Richard and his wife, Laurie, of South Hadley, Mass.; his daughter, Diane and her husband, Dan Chicklo, of Blythewood, S.C.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Louraine (Poulin); and his daughter, Joline Boucher.
