SCARBOROUGH — Nancy Evelyn (Sweet) Street, 79, of Scarborough, took the hand of Jesus and went home with Him on Sunday, Feb. 21.

She was born on July 29, 1936, in Lewiston, daughter of Alton and Dorothy Sweet. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1954. She fell “madly in love” with Wallace Street and they were married in 1961. They settled in Hobart, N.Y., where they raised their children, Michael, Cynthia and Kristin.

In 2000, they retired to Maine to be near family including 10 grandchildren.

She had a lifelong love of music, painting, camping, hiking and traveling with Wallace. Even at age 79, she loved boogie boarding in the ocean and bike riding. She also loved hosting family holidays and attending grandchildren’s events. She was always ready for an adventure and she’ll be remembered for her tireless energy, positive outlook and sense of humor.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Wallace; children, Michael (Laura) Street, Cynthia (Todd) LaSalle and Kristin (Lewis) Holland; 10 grandchildren; brothers, David (Sarah) and Richard (Nina) Sweet.
