TURNER — SAD 52 Adult and Community Education will offer a one-day workshop that is aimed at helping participants write a children’s or young adult fiction book. The workshop will be led by freelance writer Joyce Doyle of Portland. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26.

The course will teach how to find story ideas, create characters, structure plot, insert dialogue, dramatic endings and more. Doyle has worked in public relations, marketing, newspapers and has worked directly with teen literature in libraries across the state. 

This workshop is for all levels of writers with a focus on middle-grade and teen fiction. Participants should bring paper and pen or a laptop and a bag lunch.

Cost for this workshop is $125.
