PORTLAND – An Auburn man was indicted in Cumberland County Superior Court this week on 18 counts of unlawful sexual contact.

Tyler Briggs, 25, was indicted by the grand jury Thursday. He was arrested in January and has remained in jail.

The charges involve a victim younger than 12 years old, according to the indictment. Police said the abuse dates back to 2014.

Each count is a Class A crime punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
