SCARBOROUGH — Louie Razzano, 89, died on Sunday, March 13, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough. He was formerly of Rumford and Rangeley.
Born in Rumford on Nov. 14, 1926, he was a son of Cesare and Teresa (Venesio) Razzano. He attended Rumford schools and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Louie married Joyce T. Flaherty in Rumford on Oct. 23, 1947. He owned and operated Razzano’s Restaurant in Rumford and also worked as a car salesman for Israelson Motors and George Rowe. After retirement, he was the post master reserve for the U.S. Postal Service in Oquossoc.
Louie could often be found playing a tune on the piano, fishing for trout on his beloved Mooselookmeguntic Lake, or playing pool and cribbage with his nephew, Billy and son-in-law, Jim. He was a jokester by trade and loved to tell stories and entertain.
Louis was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius – St. John Church; he was a life member of Rumford Lodge No. 862, B.P.O.E., life member of Robert Shand Post No. 1641, VFW; member of Napoleon Ouellette Post No. 24, American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Milligan and her husband, James, of Gorham; two grandchildren, Katie and Bess Milligan of Gorham; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; and a daughter, Bonnie Hodgkins.
