1920 – 2016

AUBURN — Muriel A. Murphy, 95, residing at 11 Tourmaline Lane in Auburn, died peacefully on Saturday, March 12.

Muriel Murphy was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Norridgewock. Muriel graduated from Edward Little High School in 1937 and from the Auburn Maine School of Commerce. She was an enthusiastic volunteer at Central Maine Medical Center and worked as an ambassador at Sugarloaf where she was fondly known as “Mum Murphy.” She served as a team member at the Maine Handicapped Ski Program at Sunday River. She also spent many wonderful hours enjoying the beauty of Bailey Island.

She is survived by Richard “Pat” Murphy, her husband of 73 years; daughters, Pamela White and Sandy Nadeau; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
