In keeping with the policy of The Sun of supplying the public with firsthand information on all important sporting events, a bulletin service has been arranged for the Willard-Moran battle of Saturday evening. Though The Sun office is not to be opened to the public, the Associated Press returns will be received here over The Sun’s loop and will be announced by megaphone and bulletin. The fight will not commence until 9:30 o’clock, Eastern Time, so that there will be plenty of time for everyone to attend the theater or to complete the usual Saturday evening work, and still reach The Sun in time to get the returns.

The Wade & Dunton Carriage Co., which since 1885 has been a fixture on Park Street, Lewiston, will be moving to a new location on Lincoln Street as the property at 68 Park St. is taken over for the Park Street Urban Renewal project. Wade & Dunton Carriage Realty Co. has purchased land stretching from Lincoln Street to Lincoln Street Alley and plans to construct a new modern building at that location this year. At one time Wade & Dunton Carriage Co. owned about all of the real estate on both sides of Park Street between Main and Oak streets. It moved to the present location in 1948 when the building it occupied was demolished to make way for the F.W. Woolworth Co. to expand through to Park Street from Lisbon Street.

While troops trickle back home from the Persian Gulf War, members of the Lewiston High School marching band are waiting to be called up — to greet one of the soldiers’ incoming flights at Bangor International Airport. Lewiston is the first central Maine band to volunteer to play for the troops. LHS Band Director Andrea Lynch made the overture, based on a personal interest. “I have relatives who were in the National Guard band, as I was for four years,” Lynch said this week. “They said it was a real moving experience to be on hand for something like this.”
