TOPSHAM — The 26th Annual DownEast Country Dance Festival, March 25-26, will will host nonstop music and dancing of a variety of styles.

Friday, March 25, 7:30 p.m.

Mt. Ararat Middle School

The festival’s opening event is a full evening of energetic contra dancing to the Franklin County Fiddlers and Nor’easter, with callers Kim Roberts and Linda Leslie. Admission: $12, $8 for students 11-21.

Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to midnight

Mt. Ararat Middle School and Orion Performing Arts Center

Saturday features a daylong celebration of traditional dance and music, including workshops, performances and jam sessions, featuring over 20 bands playing music for nonstop New England contra dancing, plus international folk dancing, waltzing, step dancing, tango, swing and other dance styles. Full day admission to the festival is $30 for adults, and $20 for ages 11-21. Kids 10 and under are free. Daytime or evening session alone is $15 for adults, $10 for ages 11-21. Kids 10 and under are free.
