BERKHAMSTED, U.K.— Gary Pulsifer, 59, of Kings Langley, U.K., originally from Lisbon Falls, passed away Friday, March 25, after a long struggle with several cancers.

He was born Jan. 17, 1957, in Bath. After graduating from college in Arundel, England, he made it his home and forged an impressive career in publishing, founding Arcadia Publishing in 1996.

He lived at the Book Trade Charity’s The Retreat in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, for a number of years and his love of gardening had the long neglected gardens at The Retreat blooming anew, much to the delight of other residents.

He was cared for in his final days at The Hospice of St. Francis in Berkhamsted.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Pulsifer; his brother, Jeffrey Pulsifer; and nephew, Garrett Pulsifer of Lisbon Falls; and his sister, Barbara Pulsifer Plummer and husband, Wayne Plummer, of Kokadjo.

Gary was predeceased by his father, Donald Chester Pulsifer, in August 2014.
