Legion to hold indoor sale

PARIS — South Paris American Legion Post 72 will hold an indoor sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

Tables may be reserved for $10 for yard sale items and $15 for crafters and vendors. 

The lunch counter will be open, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. 

One more sale will be held at the same time on Saturday, May 14.

Proceeds from the sales will help the auxiliary send three girls to Girls State.

Male beauty pageant at Eagles

RUMFORD — An all-male beauty pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Rumford Eagles Banquet Hall, 13 Oxford Ave.

There will be competition in casual wear, talent and evening gown categories.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets are available from 3 to 9 p.m. Sundays and Tuesdays in the bingo hall for $5.

PARIS — The Oxford Hills Christian Academy will host its annual Taste of Spring dinner and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club’s workshop will discuss how to run a two-way queen system, which will be presented by Paul Szott.

The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.

Grange plans public supper

JAY — The North Jay Grange No. 10 will host a public supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

Menu includes baked beans, casseroles, turkey, meats, salads, desserts, breads and beverages. Dinner music will be provided by Dona Whittemore and Friends. 

Admission costs $8 for adults; $3 for children 10 and younger.

Yard sale benefiting Smile Fund

BETHEL — A yard sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in the basement of West Parish Congregational Church, 32 Church St.

Proceeds will benefit the Smile Fund, which provides dentures for adults in the School Administrative District 44 area.

Swingin’ Bears to welcome spring

PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will welcome spring at its next dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.

Refreshments will be available at 8 p.m. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

Admission costs $7 per person. Nondancers are welcome at no charge.

Supper to benefit victims of fire

FARMINGTON — There will be a benefit supper for Jamie Adams and Brittany Rose from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Fayette Central School. This young family with two small children lost all of their possessions in a house fire.

Indoor yard sale in Rumford

RUMFORD — The Rumford American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor an indoor yard sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10.

Breakfast sandwiches and lunch will be available.

Tables are still available to rent. Cost is $15 for one table; $25 for two. Vendors are asked to pay ahead to reserve a table at the American Legion Post on Congress Street between noon and 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Vendors are asked not to bring used furniture, used clothing or used linens.

Proceeds of the sale will provide support for veterans and their families, support programs such as Girls State and provide scholarships for local youths.

Scrap for Hope April 16

RUMFORD — The Hope Association Scrapbooking/Crafting Day will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

There will be silent auctions, a swap table and a 50/50 raffle. Tables cost $30 each. Breakfast and a healthy lunch and dinner will be included. Electricity and internet connections will be available.

Registration deadline is April 4.
