Androscoggin Pomona Grange to meet
WALES — The Androscoggin Pomona Grange No. 1 will meet on Wednesday, April 6, at the Wales Grange on Centre Road.
Supper, which will cost $5, will be served at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m.
The program will be on agriculture. Agriculture Chairman Bill Hatch has a speaker on bees coming.
There will be 50/50 raffle, door prize and attendance drawing. All Grange members are welcome to attend.

Poland Historical Society spring meeting
POLAND — The Poland Historical Society Spring meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the old school house at Poland Corner.
The speaker will be S. Chipman discussing the history of Shaker Bog. The new museum will be open for viewing. The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served.

Public supper at Green Church
MEXICO — The Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”) will serve a public supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9.
The menu will include chicken pie, mashed potato and gravy, coleslaw, peas, cranberry sauce and assorted cakes for dessert. Take-outs will be available after 5:30 p.m. by calling 207-364-8603.
The cost of the meal is $8 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12.
Following the supper, there will be an auction of dessert pies to take home. Proceeds of the pie auction benefit the fund to install lighting for the new church sign.
Baptist Church hosting community supper
OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will host a community church supper Saturday, April 9, Rayville Road.
The menu will include baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, biscuits and other home-made delicacies. The meal will be topped by a variety of cakes, sure to please any palate.
Serving times will be 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The meal is free, but donations will be accepted and to support needs in the community.
Free community luncheon April 9
FARMINGTON — Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon at noon on Saturday, April 9.
The menu for this month includes Stan’s meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert.

Voice Acting doors open wide
PARIS — Oxford Hills and Buckfield Adult Education will offer Getting Paid to Talk Wednesday, April 27.
The class is a single-evening, realistic and entertaining introduction to the world of voice overs. Attendees will learn the basics of getting started, working in the studio, effective demo production methods, industry pros and cons and where to look for opportunities in the community and how to land the job. They will also have the opportunity to record a mock commercial under the direction of a Voice Coaches producer.
The class fee is $19. Registration is required by April 20, and enrollment is limited to 25 students.

Journalism scholarship seeking applications
ELLSWORTH — The Guy P. Gannett Journalism Scholarship Fund seeks applications from Maine students.
The Gannett Scholarship provides renewable support for students majoring in journalism or a field reasonably related, including print, broadcast or electronic media. The fund helps pay tuition to attend an undergraduate, graduate, trade, or technical school.
The deadline for applications is May 1, 2016.
Applicants must be graduates of Maine high schools or have been home-schooled in Maine. Students will be chosen based on demonstrated interest in journalism through their choice of course work and extracurricular activities, as well as financial need and academic achievement.
