AUBURN — Skelton Taintor & Abbott shareholder Rebecca Webber will address ethics issues at the first Business & Finance Conference: A Day of Professional Development for Financial Managers and Accountants.

The daylong event will be held April 27 at the University of Southern Maine’s Abromson Center in Portland.

The Southern Maine Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants has organized a day of educational sessions, networking and professional development. Sessions will combine practical knowledge and build applicable skills. Topics include leadership, D&O insurance, emerging accounting topics, IMA membership/CMA designation, the changing CFO role, Excel pivot tables, common sales tax issues and Webber’s ethics presentation.

Webber has earned the preeminent AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She is also a sought-after lecturer who presents at seminars and conferences on subjects related to employment law as well as ethics and reducing business risk.

As for this conference, she said, “This program isn’t just for accountants, but for business owners and management folks who have to handle issues ranging from financing to taxes to insurance: practical guidance on what businesses face.”
