RUMFORD — The Beacon House Social Club and Learning Center has listed its upcoming activities. 

Financial planning: 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 22. This is a workshop for members and the community. Local banks will discuss how to write a budget. Upcoming topics include balancing a checkbook, reading a credit report, the importance of insurance and setting goals.

Baking class: 10:30 a.m. to noon on Mondays. In April, the class will make peach cobbler, blondies and carrot cake. 

Hobby tournaments: Bingo will be played at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 8. Scrabble will be spelled out at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 10. An eight-ball pool tournament with 100 Pine Social Club will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14; another will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, with the the Bangor club, the Together Place. A spades tournament will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 17. A nine-ball tournament will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 29. 

Movie nights: 7 p.m. most Fridays and Saturdays. This month there will be a movie matinee from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30.  

Casino Day: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month. Prizes are handed out at 3:30 p.m. This is free, and all game winners receive a ticket to be drawn and put in a bucket.

Karaoke: 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 30.

The Beacon House is seeking volunteers to teach a craft class.
