1916 – 2016
LEWISTON — Marion Eleanor Drapeau, 100, of Lewiston passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, at Montello Manor in Lewiston.
She was born in Greene on March 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Ralph and Nellie (Carver) Howe. Following her graduation from Edward Little High School, she married Reginald Drapeau in 1935. Together they raised their two children in this community.
She was a wonderful homemaker. Marion and Reginald were happily married until his death, 48 years later, in 1983. She was a loyal parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church before it closed several years ago. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother and raising her two children.
Marion is survived by her children, Reginald Drapeau Jr. and his wife, Jacquie, of Turner; daughter, Constance Michaud and her husband, Richard, of Concord, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A kind and gentle person, she devoted many hours of time and love to a special needs grandson.
Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Reginald Drapeau Sr.; her brothers, Albert, Clifford and Henry; and sisters, Arlene, Doris and Bernice.
You are invited to share your condolences and fond memories of Marion by visiting her guest book at www.thefortingroupauburn.com.
