LEWISTON — On Wednesday evening, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. Morgan Callan Rogers will speak on her recently published novel, “Written on My Heart.” The talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session,  a book sale and signing.

Rogers grew up in Bath, and spent her summers in a small cottage with her parents and three siblings, writing stories at a rickety table set on their screen porch. Her first novel, a coming-of-age tale laced with mystery and romance, “Red Ruby Heart in a Cold Blue Sea,” was published by Viking Books in 2012 and quickly garnered national praise for its authentic portrayal of a fictional fishing village on the Maine coast.

“Written on My Heart” is a sequel to “Red Ruby Heart,” following the heroine, Florine, into marriage and a new life, yet Florine finds that she is continually drawn back into the memory of her mother, Carlie, who mysteriously disappeared when she was only 12. As unexpected clues regarding Carlie’s fate begin to surface, Florine faces the challenges of trying to solve an old mystery while building a new marriage and raising her family.
