The Lisbon Water Department will be asking voters at May Town Meeting to authorize borrowing up to $150,000 to pay the cost of extending the Lisbon water system to the Lewiston line. Water Commission Chairman David Hale told selectmen that the money would pay the cost to make an emergency connection to the City of Lewiston’s water system by installing a 12-inch water main along Route 196 for 3,000 feet. The proposed new line would extend to just short of the former Lisbon Drive-in, and may become permanent someday, Hale said.
