1935 – 2016
LEWISTON — Nancy A. Smith, 80, of Monmouth passed away Friday, April 15, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 29, 1935, a daughter of Erland Irish and Barbara Hodgdon Morrison.
Nancy was a graduate of Monmouth Academy and furthered her education by receiving her associate degree in business. Nancy was employed for 35 years for the State of Maine Department of Transportation and had worked at an assisted living/boarding home in Manchester for a number of years.
She loved gardening and feeding birds around her home and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Harold Smith and wife, Linda, of Monmouth, and Danny Smith of Nobleboro; four sisters, Virginia, Carol, Connie and Sharon, all of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nancy was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Irish and David Morrison; and a grandson, Jon Smith.
