Mexico High ’58 to meet

MEXICO — Mexico High School Class of 1958 will meet for class luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Covered Wagon.

Spouses and significant others are welcome.

Poland talent show canceled

POLAND — The Excelsior Grange announced it has canceled the contest set for Saturday, April 23. 

The Granged canceled the show because there was a lack of entries.

Women’s club elects officers

READFIELD — GFWC/Livermore Falls Women’s Club met recently to elect officers for the coming two-year term.

Elected were, president Marion Hogan-Posa; vice president, Ellen Young; secretary, Madeleine Winninger; and treasurer, Nancy Timberlake. These officers will be installed at the first meeting of the new term in September.

The speaker was John Nale from the Elder Law Office in Waterville. He spoke of the importance of preparing for End of Life. This includes planning for Long Term Care, estate planning and having medical and financial directives in place. He told us 16 new laws have been passed to help seniors, and the homestead exemption is being doubled to reduce our property taxes. 

The next meeting will be held Thursday, April 28. Anyone interested in attending that meeting or joining the club may contact Marion Hogan-Posa, 207-897-2788.
