The tournament is also a benefit fundraising event with The MVRBL and in conjunction with The Mountain Valley Athletic Boosters hosting. Proceeds from the tournament and also sponsor banners sold throughout the year as part of the tournament.

“Approximately $13,000.00 was raised in the process,” MVRBL comissioner Ed Paterson said. “Those monies support the Boosters and also were distributed to other worthy organizations who contributed to the cause. This included the Falcon Basketball Club supporting youth basketball and youth sports in the area.”

There were also plenty of others who gave tireless hours of help to make sure all went well, including Booster Members, Ryan Palmer, John Pepin, Mike Perry, Mike Pare, students from Mountain Valley and local basketball enthusiasts, such as Matt and Pam Kaubris.

“Next year’s tournament plan is already underway with the intent of using four gyms, 32 teams including an illusive Women’s division,” Paterson said. “There is interests rising, teams from Vermont, New Hampshire, Boston and New York are being sought out for the ever improving A division.”
