For the past 17 years, the Maine Winter Sports Center has been running summer training camps. These camps have helped give many young people more information, motivation and support to push forward in their racing careers.
Over the past several seasons, the Maine Team Camp has been marketed to athletes who have qualified to represent Maine at U16s/EHSC/JNs, and this has always kept numbers to no more than 30-35. We feel there are many athletes in the state who have the capacity to be at that level, but have just not been exposed to these opportunities. With this in mind, we want to expand our camps to include any athletes U16 and up with a target of 40-60 athletes.
We are looking for three to five coaches to join our team of coaches to run our upcoming Maine Nordic Camp, July 5-10 and Aug. 10-14. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a fun, knowledgeable and collaborative staff, along with a terrific group of young athletes.
