Survey focuses on Route 9 corridor

LISBON — The town is asking residents to complete an online survey about its vision for the future of the Route 9 corridor. The information is being gathered in anticipation of a community workshop to discuss residents’ vision about business development and potential commercial uses.

The survey can be found at www.lisbonme.org.

For residents without internet access, the survey can be completed at the Lisbon Falls Community Library or at the Town Office.

The survey will close on Wednesday, May 11.

No spring clean-up in Auburn

Benefit for student headed Down Under

TURNER — A benefit dinner will raise funds to send Leavitt High School sophomore and athlete Caleb Bowen to compete on the Eastern Conference Track and Field Team at the 2016 Down Under Games to be held in Australia.

The dinner will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Leavitt Area High School Café.

Caleb was recruited due to his outstanding performance in track and field during his middle-school and freshman year seasons. He has been selected to represent Maine on the Eastern Conference Track & Field Team.

Fundraising deadline is June 1, and three quarters of the goal has been raised.

Tickets to the dinner are $10 for adults $5 for children and $25.00 for families. Children 3 and younger eat for free. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, live music and a bake sale.

Cribbage League lists winners

LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on April 28 were, first place, Val Madore and Marie Madore; second, Arnie Burgess and Bob Cielinski; third, Mickie Farnum and Maurice Gagne; fourth, Aaron Burke and Anita Maheux; and fifth, Edith Chambers and Bob Saucier.

The Seniors play on Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.

Danville Junction Grange to meet

DANVILLE — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the hall.

The program, presented by the Family Health and Hearing Committee, will feature Griffin Dill of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service. He will speak on the tick epidemic, how to recognize ticks and what can be done to prevent being bitten by them.

Also present will be State Family Health and Hearing Chairwoman Christine Corliss.

Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. Members are reminded to bring clipped coupons for the troops. All members and guests are invited.
