I keep reading that the state of Maine will reimburse taxpayers for the added cost of education; however, there is a two-year lag for the reimbursement.

My question is what happens to the reimbursement money from the state when it finally arrives?

I have heard that song and dance for 28 years here in Lewiston, but my taxes increase every year.

Maybe the city gets reimbursed but the taxpayers certainly don’t.

Pretty cleaver scam, if you ask me.
