NEW GLOUCESTER — The Friends of the Shakers invites the public to join their volunteer spring work day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at at 707 Shaker Road to help the Sabbathday Lake Shakers and Shaker Museum by readying the Village for opening day.

The Friends of the Shakers hold multiple work days at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village and spend the day volunteering at various assignments suitable for all ages. Work days bring chores, but fellowship as well. Everyone shares the noon meal, conversation and laughter.

Limited space is available for the public, and pre-registration is required.

Those attending may check-in at the table located under the tent for a work assignment. All tools will be supplied, but volunteers should bring work gloves if desired.
