I apologize to the city of Lewiston, particularly the School Department. As a retired school teacher from Lewiston, I should have been more aware of the election. I remember reading about it a while ago, but did not write it down on my calendar. At 79 years young, I forget often these days.
Maybe a little reminder stuck in the corner of the front page of the newspaper would have helped people like me remember that important day.
Whether I would have voted yea or nay doesn’t matter. What matters is that I should have voted. And so should the other 97 percent of the population of Lewiston. The weather definitely was not a factor.
I certainly appreciate how important a school budget is. With the influx of all the new students, teachers need to know that the citizens of this fine city are backing them up.
I am sorry.
