Fourth Thursday Poetry group

RUMFORD — The Fourth Thursday Poetry group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Rumford Public Library.

There will be social time with light refreshments, readings and discussion. Attendees are invited to bring their own or a favorite poet’s work as well as a friend.

Beacon House celebrating 25 years

RUMFORD — The Beacon House will celebrate 25 years in the community with a free open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 27.

Lunch is chop suey, tossed salad and garlic bread, followed by an ice cream social.

There will be karaoke and bingo with prizes in the afternoon.

Plant sale benefiting scholarships

INDUSTRY — An annual plant and bake sale to benefit Camp Eastward scholarships for local youths will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Town Hall.

Plants are sought for the sale. Those interested in donating may contact 207-778-9404. 

This will coincide with a bake sale sponsored by the Industry community kitchen.
