State Sen. Eric Brakey is running for a second term serving the people of Auburn, Minot, Mechanic Falls, Poland and New Gloucester, and I am very proud to work with him in Augusta.

Brakey is one of the most successful freshmen senators I have ever seen, and few in Augusta work as hard as he does.

He successfully negotiated and passed welfare reform, prohibiting the purchase of alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets with Maine welfare dollars. He worked to refocus Maine’s limited safety net resources on those most in need — our seniors and the disabled. He stood up for and restored the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Maine people. And those are only the few achievements I could fit into this letter.

Eric Brakey has accomplished all that in his first two years. I can’t wait to see what is next as he continues working for Maine people.

Rep. David Sawicki, Auburn
