LEWISTON — Mike Lachance will discuss the effects of aging on strength-loss and its impact on balance and quality of life at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Lewiston Public Library.

Lachance earned his Bachelor of Science degree in community health education from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1995 and studied physical therapy at Elon University in North Carolina.

He has provided physical therapy services in an outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine environment for 10 years and has experience working with the geriatric population in a skilled nursing facility.

The program is in partnership with the University of Southern Maine Lewiston-Auburn Senior College. It is free and open to the public.
