AUBURN — Gordon J. Touchette, 88, of Roxbury, beloved husband and father, passed Sunday, May 22, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving wife by his side.

Gordon was a World War II veteran and a proud member and chief of the Ridgefield Park, N.J., Fire Department, hose 2, a member of the New York and New Jersey Fire Chiefs Association and retired fire chief of Roxbury. He was past president of the Western Maine Firefighters Association and past president of NOMA (Northern Oxford Mutual Aid Association), he was also a former member of the Maine Fire Chiefs Association and Maine State Federation of Firefighters. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in New Jersey.

Gordon is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary (Shahbazian); son, Kevin and wife, Mary, and their children, Kevin, Ashley, Gordon and Dorothy Fajardo of Tobyhanna, Pa.; daughter, Kim and companion, David Green, and their children, Nicholas, Griffin, Jessica and Ashley of Whitefield; his treasured and lifelong Army buddy and brother-in-law, George Shahbazian and family of Secaucus, N.J.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Richard and Joan Heydt of Ridgefield Park, N.J., Thomas and Kathleen Shahbazian of White Haven, Pa., and Eileen Shahbazian of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Michael and David; sister, Gloria of Roxbury and family; sisters, Linda, Roseanna and Kathy of Mexico, and families; and brother, Robert and wife, Edna, of Holliston, Mass., and family.

He was predeceased by father, Lewis; and mother, Emma; brothers, Donald, Gary, Dennis, James, Douglas, Phillip and Lewis; and sister, Patricia.
