RANGELEY — Kyle LaRochelle pounded out three hits and drove in four runs as Rangeley capped the season with a narrow 10-9 win over Richmond on Friday.
Ricky Thompson led the Lakers (6-5) with a Grand Slam in the sixth inning and also picked up the mound win.
Tyler Soucy and Danny Steawrt led the Bobcats (9-5) with two hits apiece.
Leavitt 5, Spruce Mountain 1
TURNER — While eight total hits might not sound like a lot, Leavitt put each and every one to good use on Friday to seal the 2016 regular season with a fine 5-1 win over Spruce Mountain.
Chandler Lajoie ripped a two-run double to lead the Hornets, while Julian Kirouac also belted out a double and scored three runs.
Nate Goodine led the Phoenix with two hits in the contest. Chad Morin closed out his season with a mound win, scattering six hits in four innings of work.
Monmouth 14, Telstar 3
BETHEL — Chandler Harris scattered five hits and drew ample run support as Monmouth closed out its 2016 baseball campaign with a 14-3 romp over Telstar.
Gage Cote, Nick Dovinsky, Nick Sanborn, Avery Pomerleau and Travis Hartford led the Mustangs with two hits each.
Tanner Wheeler led the Rebels with two hits in the contest and also suffered the loss.
Lisbon 5, Mountain Valley 3
LISBON — Tyler Halls hurled seven innings of one-hit baseball and struck out 12 as Lisbon hustled to a 5-3 season-ending victory over Mountain Valley in MVC action Friday.
Nick Austin led the Greyhounds (11-5) with three hits and two RBIs, while Austin Fournier chipped in with three hits and one RBI. Halls helped his cause with two hits and one RBI, while catcher Nick Lerette also belted out two hits.
Cam Godbois led the Falcons (5-11) with a two-run, bases-loaded single in the fifth inning. Tim Fitzgerald gave up five unearned runs in six frames of work.
Dirigo 15, Mt. Abram 5
DIXFIELD — Senior pitcher Gus Brown earned his first career win as Dirigo busted out a 15-5 victory over Mt. Abram in baseball action Friday afternoon.
The Cougars (10-6) posted 10 runs in the first two innings, and took advantage of 12 walks overall. Sophomore center fielder Cam Turner roped a triple for Dirigo.
Junior first baseman Cody Ladd contributed three singles for the Roadrunners (0-16).
Softball
Telstar 8, Monmouth 4
BETHEL — Becca Howard and Tasha Hart provided key hits for Telstar when they were needed most, as they rallied back from a two-run deficit to post a 8-4 win over Monmouth Friday.
Howard led Jim Lunnie’s powerhouse Rebels (14-2) with a home run in the third frame, while Hart belted a three-run triple in the sixth. Tehya Johnson also contributed with an RBI single for Telstar. Olivia York scattered six hits in seven innings to earn the win.
Hannah Anderson led the Mustangs (7-8) with two hits, while Emily Chasse suffered the loss.
Dirigo 10, Mt. Abram 3
DIXFIELD — Emma Lueders collected three singles and five stolen bases to fuel Dirigo in a 10-3 victory over Mt. Abram in softball action Friday afternoon.
The Cougars pounced for five runs in the third inning for a 6-1 lead after three. Kenzie Lord contributed two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Dirigo.
Pitcher Alora Ross went 3-for-3, including two doubles, and two RBIs on offense and took the mound loss for the Roadrunners.
Girls’ lacrosse
Edward Little 10, Oxford Hills 9
PARIS — Megan Steele and Francesca-Beth Haines each registered hat tricks Friday to lead Edward Little to a 10-9 win over Oxford Hills in a girls’ lacrosse tilt.
Brooke Lever and Piper Norcross each scored twice for the Red Eddies (4-7) to complete the scoring. Allyssa Hanley led the Vikings (2-8) with three goals, while Haley Wakefield and Derry Bessette each scored twice. Single tallies from Caroline Burns and Hannah Hartnett completed the scoring.
Mariah Vaillancourt made 13 saves for Edward Little, while Samantha Bickford turned aside 11 shots between the posts for Oxford Hills.
