1926 – 2016
NORWAY — Flora R. Ramsay, 90, of South Paris passed away Monday, May 30, at the Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Flora was born in Auburn on May 12, 1926, a daughter of Orland and Martha (Quimby) Additon. She was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School. Following high school, she graduated from Farmington State Teachers College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education.
She taught for many years at the Mildred M. Fox Elementary School in South Paris, from which she retired.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris and the Maine State Retired Teachers Association. Flora enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts and was well-known for her Christmas stockings.
She married David Ramsay in 1951.
Surviving are her husband of South Paris; a son, Scott Ramsay of Gardiner; three daughters, Kathy Millett of Norway, Diane Baker and her husband, Robert, of Harrison, and Stacie Beyer and her husband, Jim, of Levant; a brother, Lawrence Additon and his wife, Joan, of Rhode Island; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Flora is predeceased by two brothers, Roland Additon and Sewell Additon; and a sister, Ethel Tebbetts.
