1925 – 2016

LEWISTON — Roland Henri Lacasse, 90, passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, at d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 7, 1925, the son of the late Arthur and Elisa (Paradis) Lacasse.

Roland lived in Lewiston his entire life. He was a devout Catholic, attending Mass at Holy Cross and Holy Family churches. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and an honored fourth degree Knight. Roland liked to go dancing, camping, deep-sea fishing and anything outdoors. He also enjoyed ice skating and used to have an ice rink in his backyard. On a warm summer day, you could find Roland in his garden or enjoying a day of barbecuing. He enjoyed music and liked to play his harmonica, as well as other down-home instruments. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean war.

He is survived by his significant other, Bernadette Cloutier of Lewiston; three sons, Ronald of Fredericksburg, Va., Raymond and his wife, Diane, of Centreville, Va., and Roger and his wife, Linda, of Lisbon Falls; his two brothers, Paul Lacasse of Auburn, Father Robert Lacasse, OMI of Bolivia; his sister, Rita Morency of Auburn; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; seven brothers; and one sister.
