AUBURN – Community Little Theatre announces the cast of its upcoming production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton.
Emily Flynn will reprise her principal role as Belle for the 2016 production. Flynn portrayed Belle 10 years ago in CLT’s 2006 production of the show and is excited to be taking on the role yet again. Playing opposite of Flynn in the role of the Beast will be Chip Groover. The overly-macho and narcissistic Gaston will be played by Phillip Warren with Scotty Venable playing the bumbling Lefou by his side. Dan Crawford will play Maurice, Belle’s somewhat-eccentric inventor father.
The castle servants-turned-household-items include Christine Gill as Madame de la Grand Bouche, David Handley as Cogsworth, Mitchell Clyde Thomas as Lumiere (also reprising his role from the 2006 production), Jessica Henson as Babette, Jordon Payne as Mrs. Potts and Mallory Haynes-White as the adorable tea cup, Chip. Gaston’s entourage of adoring, silly girls will be played by Lindsay Cagney, Myranda Michaud and Felicia McLeod. To complete the cast, ensemble members include Maxwell Draper, Jeff Fairfield, Dexter Casto, Ken Mansur, Meredith Crawford, Debbie Mansur, Kuimiye Idris, James McKinley, Casey Griffin, Mackenzie Richard, Phil Vampatella, Genevieve Hering, Olivia DuBois, Sophie Wood, Phoebe Gouette, Nicole Chase, Stefanie Lynn and Adam Talpey.
CLT’s production of Disney’s “Beauty & the Beast” runs from Aug. 19-28. The production team is led by Richard Martin as director and light designer; Vincent Ratsavong is assistant director/choreographer. Rounding out the team, Jackie McDonald will serve as producer, Kay Warren as assistant producer, Paul Caron as music director, Bre Allard as stage manager, Richard Martin, Bill Hamilton and Britny Anderson as set design team, Thomas Anderson as sound designer, Jennifer Fox as costume designer, Kat Carney as property master and Danielle Eaton as publicist.
