DIXFIELD — Residents of the 12 Regional School Unit 10 towns will have a chance to act on the proposed $38 million budget for school year 2016-17 on Tuesday.

If approved, Byron would see a reduction in school taxes of $234 and Hanover would see a decrease of $8,600. All other towns will see increases, with Roxbury and Carthage seeing the greatest increases because the wind turbine projects in those towns add to the valuation.

As proposed, the budget is 4.2 percent higher than the current fiscal year; the local share increase would rise by 2.9 percent.

If approved, increases would be: Buckfield, $41,500; Canton, $9,600; Carthage, $12,150; Dixfield, $49,850; Hartford, $25,300; Mexico, $88,000; Peru, $18,600; Roxbury, $195,300; Rumford, $7,800; and Sumner, $35,300.

Polls will be open in:
