LEWISTON — The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center will celebrate Fête Nationale, the Feast Day of St. John the Baptist, on Friday, June 24.
The event will begin with a social hour and cash bar in Heritage Hall at 10:30 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., a Fête Nationale luncheon will be served, consisting of salad, rice with chicken and mushrooms, and Fête cake.
Following the luncheon will be a celebration in the Performance Hall.
Special guests include Marie-Claude Francoeur, head of the Québec Delegation to Boston, and representatives of the Ursuline Sisters, an order of nuns who arrived from Québec to teach in local parochial schools 100 years ago. A special dedication honoring the Ursuline centennial will take place at the end of the celebration.
The 12:30 p.m. program will include Gus LaCasse, the Franco-American Veterans Color Guard, and songs led by Les Troubadours.
