JAY — A Livermore teenager was thrown through the rear window of a car legally parked beside East Dixfield Road on Monday when his off-road dirt bike struck it, police Sgt. Russell Adams said.

Garrett Benedix, 16, received a broken arm and facial injuries and was transported by NorthStar EMS ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Benedix was wearing a helmet and traveling east on the road, also known as Route 17, toward My Dad’s Place when the accident occurred about 6 p.m.

The 2007 Toyota Corolla is owned by Cynthia Magoon of Jay, Adams said.

The accident remains under investigation, he said.
