East Auburn 21, Auburn Fire Fighters 11

Every East Auburn player contributed a hit in the 21-11 win over the Auburn Fire Fighters. Campbell Cassidy went 3-for-3 with a triple, while Drew Smith went 3-for-4 to lead East Auburn offensively. Will Cassidy cranked his fourth home run of the season along with three RBIs. Kade Masselli picked up the victory on the mound Brady Vincent led Auburn Fire Fighters with two hits both doubles. Andrew Casares, Caleb Albert, Ben Forbush and Gavin Dancsak all contributed hits for the Fire Fighters.

East Auburn 14, Pepsi 3

In a match of the two teams tied for first place with identical 9-2 records, East Auburn defeated Pepsi 14-3. Will Cassidy spread out four hits and a walk over five innings to earn the victory on the mound for East Auburn. Cassidy fanned 11 along the way. Patrick Anthoine went 2-for-2 at the plate for Pepsi with a double and a single. Brennan Anthoine stroked a triple and Landon Morissette picked up Pepsi’s other hit in the losing effort. Morissette pitched three strong innings in relief for Pepsi striking out five. For East Auburn, Cassidy socked his fifth home run of the season and added a double and single while knocking in four runs on the day. Campbell Cassidy had four hits and Kamden Masselli had three hits. Christian Frey added two hits in the winning effort.

Winthrop 3, Sabattus 2

WINTHROP — Bradley Bourne and Owen Foster each had two Singles in Winthrop’s 3-2 victory in Apple Valley baseball action. Reid Cote had a triple, double and two singles for Sabattus.

Winthrop 6, Turner 4

WINTHROP — Jackson Ladd had three hits including a double in Winthrop’s 6-4 victory over Turner in a Apple Valley Babe Ruth contest. Carson Camick also smacked a double while Ryan Baird had two hits in the victory. Cole Morin led Turner with a pair of singles.

Monmouth 6 Greene/Leeds 3 (5 innings)

Monmouth defeated Greene/Leeds 5-3 in a rain shortened five inning Babe Ruth game on Monday, June 7.

Monmouth built a 2-0 lead on a two RBI single by Matthew Fortin off of Greene/Leeds pitcher Allen Peabody in the bottom half of the third inning. Monmouth added two more runs in bottom half of the fourth to stretch the lead to 4-0. Trevor Flanagan and Connor Davies combined for a no-hit shut out until two outs in the fifth inning when Greene/Leeds was able to string a few hits together off of Davies to score three in the top of fifth inning.

Monmouth (3-1) got one run back in the bottom of the frame after Tommy Neal singled, stole second and was hit in by Dylan Lajoie. Greene/Leeds answered with a run in the top of the sixth before the skies opened up and the game was cancelled.
