I have lived in Maine for more than half a century. I was born in Augusta but have lived in many places. I have visited Fenway Park, Walt Disney World, the new Boston Garden to see a Celtics game (hopefully a Bruins game before too long). Been through two ice storms (along with everyone else). I graduated from Monmouth Academy with honors; graduated with an associate degree in secretarial sciences. I hope to return to Thomas College one day and receive my bachelor’s degree in business administration. Maybe take a class in photography. I have been taking pictures of my home for a while now. I have a lot more memories of Maine I want to capture.
The point to all of this is that Maine has a lot to offer and I love living here. We have all seen difficult times together. We have risen above all of them. We are still standing, and we will continue to stand tall against anything. I am proud of my home state and the people who live here.
Stay in Maine. It is a place to raise a family. There are great schools, hospitals and plenty of people to help a person out at a moment’s notice.
It is beautiful year round — take it in, enjoy it.
Maine has a lot to offer. Come home to Maine — you will not regret it.
