Maine Author Series: 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7. Author is Dean Bennett, book is “Ghost Buck: The Legacy of One Man’s Family and its Hunting Traditions.” The book focuses on family and hunting as a lifestyle. It’s also about the evolution of Greenwood in Oxford County: the clearing of the forest, the planting of orchards and fields, the arrival and abandonment of county roads, and the appearance, then disappearance, of villages as railroads changed course. Bennett recalls hunting triumphs and defeats, including the elusive Ghost Buck that haunts the camp’s surrounding forest.

Instructor Alan Elze will discuss spending six months on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean.
