1933 – 2016

AUBURN — June P. (Marquis) Fournier, 83, of Edgewood Road, Auburn, died Tuesday afternoon, June 28, at her home following a short illness.

June was born on June 26, 1933, in Houlton, the daughter of Viola Bard Deshaies and Leonard Marquis. She grew up in Lewiston where she married the late Norman Fournier, also of Lewiston, on March 6, 1951.

June was devoted to her family and friends. She was active in her church and was an avid reader. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the ocean and camping in Lincoln with her longtime companion, Hermann Sprenger, of Auburn. June was famous for her homemade pies, doughnuts, chocolate eclairs, peanut butter fudge and turkey soup.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Fournier of Orono and Robin Fournier of Auburn; her daughters, Lisa Fournier Weeks of Port Hueneme, Calif., Michelle Fournier of Falmouth and Olia Cobb of Yarmouth. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, Adrianna Cobb, Caroline Fournier Dyhrberg and Annika Fournier Dyhrberg. Also surviving her are her brother Phillip Marquis of Lewiston and her companion, Hermann Sprenger of Auburn, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

June is predeceased by her husband, Norman; daughter Dr. Susan F. Mathews; and her brother, Richard “Sonny” Marquis.
