PARIS — Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9787 will hold an open house and U.S. flag retirement ceremony from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at 59 Main St. 

Members of the public and veterans are invited to meet VFW members and the Auxiliary Unit.

The flag retirement ceremony will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Those with U.S. flags that are worn or frayed may bring them to be retired. 

The VFW will run a slideshow on the development of the Paris Veterans’ Monuments now located in Moore Park. Refreshments will be available. 

The VFW and Auxiliary meet at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month for a meal, followed by a meeting at 7 p.m.
