LEWISTON — Attorney Taylor Asen, a Maine native who spent the past two years in New York City representing plaintiffs in class-action and mass tort cases, has joined the Berman & Simmons law firm.

Asen will represent plaintiffs in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle and medical malpractice cases, and complex civil litigation matters. He officially joined the firm’s Lewiston office on June 13.

Originally from Portland, Asen was a top scholar at George Washington University and graduated from Yale Law School in 2012. While at Yale, he participated in the Veterans Legal Services Clinic and the LGBT Litigation Project. He was co-chairman of the Civil Justice Committee of the Yale Chapter of the American Constitution Society, and was managing editor of the Yale Human Rights & Development Law Journal.

He is licensed to practice law in New York and will be taking the bar exam in July to obtain licensure in Maine. He and his family live in Portland.
