STANDISH — Auditions for “Clue, The Musical,” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, and Tuesday, July 19, at the Schoolhouse Arts Center.
Please bring sheet music and come prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway-type song along with a quick range check. An accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to read a short monologue which will be available for each character. Audition will include a reading for your top choice only.
Rehearsals will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 2 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Some rehearsals will be flexible based upon actor availabilities. Final rehearsal schedule will be available at a read-through on July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Please be sure to list any conflicts between now and the show on your audition form.
“Clue” will be directed by Jocelyn French. Performances will be from Sept .16 through Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays.

The popular game is now a fun-filled musical which brings the world’s best known suspects to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery. The audience will help deduce the solution from clues given throughout the fun-filled evening. Audience members choose from cards representing the potential murderers, weapons and rooms; there are 216 possible solutions. Comic antics, witty lyrics and beguiling music carry the investigation from room to room.
Character descriptions:
Mr. Boddy, male, charismatic, handsome, playful host; soaring baritone/tenor;
Mrs. Peacock, female, acerbic, manipulative, sexy socialite; mezzo with belt;
Professor Plum, male, astute intellectual with a wry sense of humor; baritone;
Miss Scarlet, female, shrewd, very attractive vixen; wide vocal range with belt;
Colonel Mustard, male, pompous, amorous military man; baritone;
Mrs. White, male, fun-loving cockney maid, portrayed by a man; wide vocal range;
Mr. Green, male, slick, handsome wheeler-dealer; baritone/tenor;
Detective, female, hard-nosed, snappy, humorous female; interesting singing voice.
