No question, Patrick Dempsey’s a draw.
The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce sold its last 70 tickets to next Thursday’s breakfast in about 24 hours, after announcing the actor would be the guest speaker.
The chamber announced the event was sold out just after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Riverview Market & Cafe closed
The Lincoln Street eatery in Lewiston was sold to Tony V LLC for $160,000 on June 13, according to a CBRE/Boulos Co. news release. The deal was brokered by Joe Porta at Boulos and Sue Meservier of The Maine Real Estate Network.
Porta said the building will be used as office space for a local business.
Taco Bell in Auburn! Sometime!
The former Tim Hortons on Center Street has had a Taco Bell “now hiring” sign hanging on the front now for a few weeks, but it isn’t clear how soon it will open.
A web address on the sign takes you to a Kentucky Fried Chicken jobs site to fill out an online application, but no other information was available there. Taco Bell and KFC are both owned by Yum Brands, along with Pizza Hut.
Staff at the KFC further down Center Street said that restaurant isn’t under the same ownership as the new Taco Bell. For now, the windows are semi-papered over. Messages left for the building owner weren’t returned.
