Moose Hill Cemetery annual meeting

LIVERMORE FALLS — Moose Hill Cemetery Association’s annual meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Moose Hill Free Will Baptist Church on Record Road.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Larry Shaw to speak on Ridlonville

MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, July 18, at the Wills Homestead Museum, 3 Oxford St.

A potluck dinner will be followed by a short meeting.

Larry Shaw, a longtime resident of the area, will be the guest speaker at 6 p.m. He will share anecdotes of what life was like growing up in Ridlonville from 1940-1950.

The public is invited to share their experiences. The event is free. 

Rumford Seniors to meet

PERU — The Rumford Senior Citizens have announced upcoming activities. 

The seniors will meet for brunch at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18. Admission is $3 per person.

The monthly membership meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, followed by a potluck lunch at 11 a.m. and bingo at 12:30 p.m. 

Bingo is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m.

A barbecue will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22.

Dessert party at Historical Society

WEST PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society hosted Walter Bannon in June, who spoke on old glass bottles. 

This month’s meeting will be a dessert party at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 18. The winners from the fundraising calendars will be held. Everyone will have 22 chances to win, and every calendar buyer is welcome. Those interested in purchasing a calendar may contact 207-674-2504.

SeniorsPlus outreach in Norway, Fryeburg

NORWAY and FRYEBURG — SeniorsPlus will be in Norway and Fryeburg to answer any questions or concerns community members may have about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

Norway: 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the Norway Town Office.

Fryeburg: 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, July 25, at the Fryeburg Library.

The events are free and open to the public.

Bridge Club lists results

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met July 8 for a 12-table Mitchell movement.

Finishing first in flight A N/S were Rosemarie Goodwin and Luke Merry; second, Della Starbird and Eilene Potvin; third, Cynthia and Bill Clifford Jr., also first in flight B; and fourth in A were Misha Tomic and Mike Newsom. Finishing second in flight B N/S were Jim Krainin and Milt McKeen Jr.; third, Carolyn and David Ehrman, also first in flight C; and fourth in B, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr, also second in flight C. Finishing third in flight C were Marlee Turner and Cathy Sanderson.

Finishing first in E/W flight A were Norma and Rick Verrill, also first in flight B; second, Sherrie Hinckley and Fred Letourneau; third, Hazel Glazier and Marta Clements; and fourth, Neanie Kivus and David Lock. Finishing second in flight B were Diana and Frank Ferland, also first in flight C; tied for third and fourth, Shelly and David Kaminsky with Ruth Tyler and David Kallander, who also were tied for second and third in flight C; and fourth in C, B.J. and Steve Cavicchi. 

Games are played at 9:15 a.m. on Fridays in the Recreation building on King Street. All bridge players are welcome, and a partner is guaranteed.
