OXFORD — Joseph and Debra Nugent of Oxford are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shikara Cheri Nugent of West Paris, to John S. McAlister of West Paris, son of Veronda Herrick of Otisfield and the late John H. McAlister.

Miss Nugent is a graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and a 2016 graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Lewiston-Auburn College, where she received her bachelor’s of science degree. She is employed as a direct support/behavioral health professional at Living Innovations, Lewiston.

Mr. McAlister is a graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. He is employed as a quality control manager for KBS Modular Homes, Waterford Plant.

An October 2017 wedding is planned.
