LEWISTON — A boy of unknown age was hit by a car Sunday night while riding his bike across a pedestrian walkway.
The boy was riding down Bates Street at the same time a red Mitsubishi minivan was driving down Birch Street and turning right onto Bates. The boy and the vehicle collided just before 8:30 p.m.
A witness was walking down Birch Street when she saw the incident and immediately called 911.
“It was so scary,” the witness said. “Inches closer, he would have hit the front.”
The boy was transported to a local hospital by United Ambulance with unknown injuries.
Lewiston police and fire responded to the scene.
