At the meeting or the Ad Men’s Bureau of the Chamber of Commerce held yesterday morning it was voted to close the stores all day Wednesday, July 26th for the annual Chamber of Commerce outing. The outing will be held at Gurnet as has been previously stated in The Sun and the party will leave on special cars at 9 o’clock. The matter of Harvest Carnival was discussed and a committee will be appointed to consider it. It is probable that the carnival will be held.

Central Maine Technical College in Auburn may be “a little bit off the beaten path” for a group of Chinese educators who will be touring the United States next summer. but President William Hierstein hopes they’ll visit the campus anyway. It would give him a chance to build upon initial contacts he established during a recent three-week trip to the People’s Re-public and perhaps foster some sort of exchange between CMTC and a Chinese counterpart. “The point of the trip was for Chinese institutions to establish relationships with colleges in the United States,” he said. “They’re anxious to send scholars here for graduate study.”
