I hope the people who are in favor of the so-called bathroom laws have given some thought to how these laws will be enforced.

Of course there would have to be security agents stationed at all restroom doors. Would we be required to present our birth certificates as proof that we are using the facilities appropriate to the gender we were assigned at birth? Will there be pat-downs? Strip searches?

Perhaps hidden cameras should be placed in the stalls.

The lines at public restrooms would be long, even longer than they are now. But just as at airports, a long wait in line is the price that must be paid for security.

On the plus side, hiring all those security agents will certainly boost the employment rate.

On the other hand, who is going to provide the money for their paychecks, not to mention training, equipment and maintenance on those cameras? Probably the taxpayers — most of whom do not really care about the bathroom issue in the first place.
