1922 – 2016

LEWISTON — Euclide R. Bonneau, 93, of Montello Heights, Lewiston, and formerly a longtime resident of 6 Manning Ave., Lewiston, died Sunday, July 24, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.

Born in St. Narcisse, P.Q., Canada, on Sept. 23, 1922, he was the son of Joseph and Emma Langlois Bonneau. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Vlass of ’42. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Northern France, Central Europe and the Rhineland with the 333rd Ordnance Company.

After the war, he returned to Lewiston and on Aug. 5, 1946, he married the former Irene Desjardins. He was a founder and partner of Bonneau’s Supermarket and co-owner of Bonneau’s Shopping Plaza. He was for many years a member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish.

Besides his loving wife of Lewiston, survivors include three sons, Roland and wife, Diane, of Lewiston, Normand of Ottawa, Canada, and Donald of Lewiston; a daughter, Constance, and husband, Gilbert LaPointe, of Auburn; three grandchildren, Dawna and husband, Mark Hall, of Portland, Chris Bonneau and wife, Jihee, of Irvine, Calif., and Karen and husband, Michael Stivaletti, of South Portland; three great-grandchildren, Maya and Molly Stivaletti, and Renee Bonneau; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers, Donat, Arthur, Victor, Lucien, Armand and Edgar; three sisters, Cecile Levesque, Noema Renaud and Leona Parent; and a son-in-law, Richard Normand. Donations, condolences and a video tribute may be found online at www.albert-burpee.com.
