1927 – 2016

AUBURN — George S. Vasel, 88, of Lisbon died peacefully Sunday, July 24.

George was born Dec. 22, 1927, to Cleora Dingley and James Vasel of Lisbon. His educational career was plentiful, graduating from Lisbon High School in 1949, Bliss College in 1959 and Husson College in 1966.

After serving his country as a sergeant in the U.S Army, George was a high school business teacher, coach and salesman. He was an avid Red Sox fan, gardener, reader and storyteller.

Surviving family members include his brother, Clyde Vasel and wife, Libby, of Lisbon; sister, Arline Achey of Jackman; brother-in-law, Edward Alexander of Lisbon; and many multi-generational nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clover, Androscoggin Home Health and the Hospice House.

His sister, Lina Alexander, and his parents predeceased George.
